Peter Copping, who has taken over the legendary designer label Oscar de la Renta as Artistic Director, presented the Spring/Summer 2016 collection at NYFW and proved, once again, why he was the right choice. Copping's direction for the collection was a true tribute to the iconic Dominican designer, Oscar de la Renta, with sprinklings of his aesthetic throughout the ensembles:

From the moment you entered the venue, there was an essence of ODLR and his love for Hispanic culture starting with a carnation flower on every seat, which happens to be one of the late designer's favorite blooms. This flower was carried throughout the show with dresses of all styles donning this floral print. There was a strong Spanish influence on the looks from signature Spanish espadrilles and a cropped cape to quite a few black and red combo outfits giving you a flair of the flamenco, matador style while still being soft.

Other details that Copping incorporated were: sexy lace, skin-baring corsets, flats, and vibrant colors like saffron and sea foam. All of these elements gave this infamous staple brand a fun, modern feel that did not disappoint.
